About Derek Johnson

Derek is the author of six books including Husky Football in the Don James EraThe Dawgs of War, which featured Woodinville legend Marques Tuiasosopo and the 2000 Washington Huskies Rose Bowl team, and The Husky Hitman, which was co-written with former Husky and current Secret Service agent Dave Hoffmann. Over the span of two decades, Derek has interviewed and chronicled the likes of Don James, Brandon Roy, Ronnie Lott, Kenny Easley, Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Napoleon Kaufman and Steve Emtman.  

Derek was the sportswriter at The Woodinville Weekly from 2013-2019. His book, The Beautiful Life and Tragic Death of Parker Moore, depicted the inspiring and heartbreaking story of a young Woodinville resident.
